Kang Tae-joo asked Seo Ji-won (played by Kwak Sun-young) to publish an article stating that the Special Investigation Headquarters had found another strong suspect. However, Cha Si-young found herself in a difficult position as issues regarding illegal arrests, coercive investigations, and forced confessions by detectives during Lee Ki-bum’s capture came to light. After confirming that Im Seok-man shared the killer’s blood type (Type B) and matched the radioactive isotope analysis, Kang Tae-joo pushed Cha Si-young to shift the direction of the investigation.

In the midst of the chaos, Im Seok-man visited Kang Soon-young (played by Seo Ji-hye) to return Lee Ki-bum’s handkerchief. Kang Soon-young was furious that Im Seok-man had remained silent while Lee Ki-bum was being taken away by detectives. While questioning how the handkerchief ended up at his house, she suddenly began to suspect that he might be the real culprit, especially after realizing that both Im Seok-man and the killer had a limp, sending a wave of fear and anxiety through her.

Ultimately, Im Seok-man was arrested as a serial murder suspect, and Lee Ki-bum was released from the detention center. Tragically, however, Lee Ki-bum passed away on his way home, where his brother Lee Ki-hwan (played by Jung Moon-sung) was waiting for him. The atmosphere at Lee Ki-bum’s home shifted instantly from celebration to mourning. The bereaved family and visitors blamed Kang Tae-joo for Lee Ki-bum’s death. The cause of death was sepsis resulting from organ damage, caused by those who used confinement, assault, and torture to force a confession.

Meanwhile, another funeral was taking place for Cha Si-young’s mother. Unlike Lee Ki-bum’s funeral, the atmosphere was lavish and cheerful, which triggered Kang Tae-joo’s childhood trauma. He collapsed in front of the chief mourner, Cha Si-young, who was chatting and laughing with guests. Kang Tae-joo’s final words were filled with regret and anger: “Ki-bum, this place is a festival. Laughing and chatting without any guilt or sadness. You have already been forgotten by those who caused your death. So do not forgive anyone. Not even me, who knelt helplessly before them…”

The epilogue finally revealed the identity of ‘Lee Yong-woo,’ the serial killer caught after 30 years. When Kang Tae-joo asked, “Have you ever been caught? Did Ki-bum know you were the killer?” the camera revealed the face of an older Lee Ki-hwan. Even more shocking was the scene where Lee Ki-bum, before passing away, realized his brother was the killer and pleaded, “Brother, not Soon-young…” The conversation between Lee Ki-hwan and Kang Tae-joo has left viewers eager to see what other truths will be uncovered in the next episode.

Meanwhile, episode 7 of ‘Heosuabi,’ which revealed the killer’s face, recorded a viewership rating of 6.5% according to Nielsen Korea’s paid platforms nationwide. Although ratings dipped slightly, the drama maintained its success, remaining the number one Monday-Tuesday drama.
