“I’m going to create the stage of my life!”
Singer Hwang Yun-seong brought high energy and a strong desire for victory to MBN’s ‘News Fighter’ just before the finals of ‘Mumeong Jeonseol’.
Appearing on the May 11th broadcast of MBN’s ‘News Fighter’, Hwang Yun-seong captured viewers’ hearts with his witty remarks and great chemistry with the other TOP10 members of ‘Mumeong Jeonseol – Trot Men’s Hierarchy War’ (hereafter ‘Mumeong Jeonseol’) ahead of the grand finale.
When anchor Jung Tae-woong asked him to introduce himself with a song that represents him best, Hwang Yun-seong performed Kang Moon-kyung’s ‘Jul-deut-mal-deut’, the song that earned him 3rd place in the ‘Famous Selection’ preliminaries of ‘Mumeong Jeonseol’. He introduced himself as the “Trot Push-and-Pull Man Hwang Yun-seong,” instantly lifting the mood with his powerful presence.
Hwang Yun-seong shared a hilarious yet sad story when asked if he had “challenged ‘Mumeong Jeonseol’ to take back his song that was stolen while he was in the military.” He explained, “Manager Song Seong-ho, who is also well-known as Lee Young-ja’s manager, sang my song during a trot audition while I was serving in the army. He sang it so well that he even performed my song ‘Gaya-handamyeon’ at events and weddings!” When asked if he feels his current popularity, he replied, “Since I’ve made it to the finals, I think I’ve regained control of the song, but the final ranking is what matters most.” He then sincerely asked for fans’ votes and support.
His heartwarming chemistry with fellow contestant and same-age friend Lee Dae-hwan also caught attention. Lee Dae-hwan expressed his affection, saying, “I have a personality that makes it hard for me to approach people, but even though he’s a celebrity, Hwang Yun-seong was so friendly. He approached me first and called me ‘friend,’ which really touched my heart. He is a truly kind person I want to emulate, and he’s handsome too!”
Hwang Yun-seong also performed his new song ‘Nanli Blues,’ which landed him 3rd place in the first round’s ‘Hit Song Mission.’ Delivering a passionate performance with dance moves, he said, “It’s an addictive dance trot song. It’s easy to sing along to, so please do so, and I hope many of you participate in the challenge!”
When asked when he feels famous or still “unknown,” he honestly answered, “I use public transportation often, and these days, people recognize me a bit on the subway, which can be slightly inconvenient. In those moments, I feel that many people are watching me.” However, he added, “I feel like I’m still unknown when people don’t know my full name and only remember ‘Hwang…’ Still, I’m just so grateful that they recognize me at all.”
Finally, Hwang Yun-seong shared his determination: “Since it’s the ‘Life Song Mission,’ I’ll go out there with the mindset of pouring everything into the stage.” He ended with a witty greeting, “Candidate number 7. Please vote-seven!”
Hwang Yun-seong is currently appearing on ‘Mumeong Jeonseol,’ leaving a strong impression with powerful performances in every round. With the live finals and real-time text voting coming up on the 13th, anticipation is high to see if he can create another legendary stage and claim the throne.
