Former KBS announcer and broadcaster Park Ji-yoon shared a glimpse into her life as she celebrated Parents’ Day amidst her divorce.
On the 11th, Park Ji-yoon posted several photos on her SNS with the caption, “Today is overflowing with love in many ways.” The photos included screenshots of messages between her and her daughter, Dain, who prepared a surprise for Parents’ Day.
Dain gifted Park Ji-yoon a perfume hand cream worth about 20,000 won, explaining, “I originally wanted to buy a cake, but since I couldn’t, I spent my allowance to buy this instead.” She added a funny note, saying, “Thanks to this, my balance is now 1,000 won,” bringing a smile to everyone’s face.
Park Ji-yoon responded with a “touched” emoticon and warmly suggested, “Let’s eat cake with mom’s money.” To this, Dain revealed, “Actually, there’s already a cake at home. The second child bought it,” adding, “But it’s a surprise, so you have to pretend to be surprised. If you get caught, my sibling might kill me!” Park Ji-yoon added a touching message: “I’ll refill the allowances of Ian and Dain, who spent everything to show love to the mom they couldn’t see on Friday, but the three of us are rich in heart.”
Notably, it was revealed that the two children had a visitation meeting with Park Ji-yoon’s ex-husband and former KBS announcer Choi Dong-seok on the 8th for Parents’ Day. On the 10th, Choi Dong-seok shared a handwritten letter from his second child, Ian, on SNS, captioning it, “The kids are busy with various small schedules even on the weekend.”
The letter read, “Thank you for sending warm meals and always greeting me warmly and hugging me when I return from school. I will try my best to be a good son.” Choi Dong-seok added, “My son wanted to do a cake surprise for Parents’ Day but said he couldn’t go buy a cake alone. Let’s eat meat together, gain strength, and live hard for another week.”
Meanwhile, Choi Dong-seok and Park Ji-yoon met as fellow KBS 30th class announcers and married in 2009, having one son and one daughter before their marriage ended in 2023. While Park Ji-yoon holds custody and parental rights, Choi Dong-seok has been meeting the children through visitation.
