Lee Min-ki and MONSTA X's Hyungwon to Lead 'Grim Reaper Life Extension Project'!

Actor Lee Min-ki and MONSTA X’s Hyungwon have been cast as the leads in ‘Grim Reaper Life Extension Project’, which is scheduled for release in the second half of 2026.

‘Grim Reaper Life Extension Project’ is a human black comedy about a duo consisting of a rule-abiding rookie Grim Reaper and a professional rule-breaking mentor who get entangled in a forbidden life extension project. This is the latest work from Director Lee Gye-byeok, who previously directed the film ‘Lucky’, ‘Cheer Up, Mr. Lee’, and the Netflix series ‘Sweet & Sour’.

Lee Min-ki and Hyungwon will lead the story as the mentor and rookie Grim Reapers, respectively. Lee Min-ki plays ‘Gangrim’, a mentor Grim Reaper who constantly bends the rules but maintains the top performance record. Hyungwon takes on the role of ‘Junho’, a rookie who strictly follows principles and views death solely as a job. As Junho’s beliefs begin to waver after meeting Gangrim, Gangrim finds himself swept up in unexpected situations while keeping an eye on Junho. Fans are already buzzing about the chemistry and relationship between these two polar opposite characters!

From its early production stages, ‘Grim Reaper Life Extension Project’ was designed as a multi-format project spanning movies, mid-form, and short-form content. This strategic move aims to expand the IP’s reach and cater to diverse content consumption patterns by telling one story through different lengths and styles. Filming has been completed, and the project is currently in post-production, with a release expected in the second half of 2026.
