Idol group TWS is continuing their incredible streak, expanding their presence beyond the stage to terrestrial broadcasts and web variety shows.
TWS is capturing the hearts of both their fandom and the general public by showcasing their versatile charms. Their all-around activity, spanning from terrestrial variety programs to YouTube content, seems to be fueling the popularity of their new song “You, You”.
TWS recently appeared on KBS2’s ‘Immortal Songs’ (Composer Yoon Il-sang episode), where they boasted their solid live vocals and performance skills. They reinterpreted Young Turks Club’s “Jung” with their signature refreshing vibe, resonating with viewers of all ages and becoming the first K-pop boy group to achieve an “All-Kill” victory on their first appearance.
Individual members are also shining. Dohoon appeared on KBS2’s ‘Mr. House Husband Season 2’ with a parade of adorable aegyo, while Jihoon brought laughs on JTBC’s ‘Talk Pawon 25 o’clock’ by doing the ‘OVERDRIVE’ challenge with comedian Yang Se-chan. Shinyu, Youngjae, and Kyungmin wowed the crowd on JTBC’s ‘Hidden Singer 8’ with a powerful rendition of 10CM’s hit song “Phone Concert”. Every weekend, Dohoon and Shinyu meet fans as MCs for MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ and SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’, respectively.

TWS’s unique charms also sparkled in YouTube content. Shinyu went viral online after appearing on beauty creator Risabae’s channel, pulling off a charismatic makeup look unlike anything seen before. Kyungmin showcased his unique vocal tone on ‘Limousine Service’, earning praise for having a “voice like star candy”. Meanwhile, Shinyu and Youngjae showed off their natural wit and chemistry on ‘Boo Seungkwan’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo’.
After making their mark across the broadcasting industry, TWS is maintaining a noticeable upward trend with their 5th mini album ‘NO TRAGEDY’. The album became a million-seller just four days after release. Its first-week sales reached 1,112,770 copies, breaking the group’s own record.
Their global popularity is just as hot. ‘NO TRAGEDY’ swept first place on the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking (dated May 18, tracking period May 4 to 10) and the Billboard Japan Top Album Sales (dated May 13). The album also charted on the US Billboard Top Album Sales (dated May 16). Thanks to this success, TWS ranked 21st on the ‘Emerging Artists’ list, which highlights rising stars gaining global attention.
