Kwak Min-kyung, known for her appearance on ‘EXchange 4’, has shared a heartfelt thank-you message to her fans after going public with her relationship with Shin Seung-yong.
On May 12, a video titled “A Korean Dance Major’s First Attempt at a Girl Group” was uploaded to the channel ‘Minwawa’. In the video description, Kwak Min-kyung opened up about the wave of reactions following her recent relationship announcement. She wrote, “I received so much support from many people who watched the ‘Stories I Want to Tell’ video,” adding, “Since the reactions were things I never imagined, I still can’t believe it.”
Kwak Min-kyung also expressed her gratitude to her fans, saying, “Thank you so much for liking us. I’ll work hard to show many great moments with my boyfriend in the future.” This message has drawn significant attention as it is her first public statement since officially confirming her relationship with Shin Seung-yong.
The couple previously revealed their relationship through a video on May 8. During the reveal, Kwak Min-kyung shared, “We met after filming and have been supporting each other and dating beautifully.” Shin Seung-yong also admitted, “I’m telling you this after thinking about it for a very long time,” and confessed, “I’m a bit nervous thinking about how people will react or what if it’s negative.”
Shin Seung-yong also explained why he decided to go public, saying, “I used to wear a mask and sneak around like a criminal. It was so hard and miserable. I wondered why I had to hide as if I had done something wrong.” He then promised his 230,000 subscribers, “I promise to cherish Min-kyung and only show beautiful moments,” adding, “If you feel my effort is lacking, please give me a stern word and I’ll take the punishment.”
Born in 2001 and 1992 respectively, Kwak Min-kyung and Shin Seung-yong are a couple with a 9-year age gap. While appearing on TVING’s ‘EXchange 4’, they drew attention for their past relationships with Jo Yu-sik and Park Hyun-ji, but they announced a fresh start after filming ended. Their relationship announcement video hit 3.27 million views in just four days, and the couple has since been sharing couple photos and their daily lives through their personal accounts.
