Hwang Hye-young, formerly of the group Two Two, looked back on the time she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Appearing as a guest on TV Chosun’s ‘Perfect Life’ on the 13th, Hwang Hye-young opened up about her experience fighting the illness.
During the show, Hwang Hye-young shared, “In the past, I ran a shopping mall and had so much work that I couldn’t sleep. I lived in a state of constant tension and sensitivity due to stress.” She revealed, “Living that way, I was diagnosed with a meningioma in 2010.”
She explained, “I thought I had an ear problem, so I visited an ENT and an internal medicine clinic for tests. After getting CT and MRI scans, a brain tumor was eventually discovered in my right cerebellum.”

Recalling that difficult time, she said, “I wondered why this was happening to me when I had worked so hard in my life. That feeling of emptiness eventually led to depression.”
When Lee Sung-mi mentioned that her husband must have been very shocked, Hwang Hye-young shared the heartbreaking detail that this all happened just one month after she met her husband.
She revealed, “At the time, I told him I wouldn’t even get surgery and would just let go, but my husband scheduled the surgery, admitted me to the hospital, and nursed me back to health.” Lee Sung-mi added, “Your husband saved you.”
Hwang Hye-young reflected, “I was indifferent to managing my health when I was younger,” adding, “I regretted that my health collapsed because I failed to manage inflammation.”
