Cortis Smashes 2.31 Million First-Week Sales! US and UK Media Rave Over Their “Sharper Impression”

Cortis (Martin, James, Joohoon, Sunghyun, Gunho) released their second mini album ‘GREENGREEN’ on the 4th! This album is a true team effort, with all five members co-creating everything from the music and choreography to the visuals. Their identity as a “Young Creator Crew” really shines here, using ‘GREEN’ to represent what they strive for and ‘RED’ for what they avoid, showcasing a clearer sense of style.

US business magazine Forbes gave them a huge thumbs up, stating, “Cortis is truly riding a ‘GREENGREEN’ wave right now. They’ve clearly shown their teamwork and direction as next-generation global artists.” Forbes also noted that each of the six tracks features a unique sound. Meanwhile, VMAN (US) highlighted their growth, saying they’ve become “creatively more sophisticated since their first mini album” and that their move to define themselves has become clearer as their stage grows. They added that the group now shows confidence in what they can deliver, replacing the nervousness of their debut.

The title track ‘REDRED’ is also getting lots of love! Forbes mentioned its “addictive chorus and upbeat beat” that naturally bring out its mainstream appeal. Even Entertainment Tonight, the famous entertainment show on US network CBS, picked this song as a must-watch track even before the album was released.

The charts are reflecting this hype! ‘GREENGREEN’ recorded first-week sales of 2,313,291 copies on the Hanteo Chart, making it the second highest-selling K-pop album of the year, right after BTS’s ‘ARIRANG’. It also landed in 2nd place on the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking in Japan for the period of May 4 to May 10.

‘REDRED’ is showing fierce momentum on global charts, hitting 17th on the US Billboard ‘Bubbling Under Hot 100’ as of the 16th. On the Spotify ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart as of the 12th, it held its spot in the rankings for three consecutive weeks, landing at 76th. On the latest Billboard Japan chart (May 4 to May 10), it entered at 1st on ‘Hitseekers Songs’ and 32nd on the ‘Hot 100’. Plus, it hit the top of the Melon ‘Top 100’ in Korea on May 13 at 11 PM.
