K-Band Renaissance! Devils, Wi Il-cheong, and Seo Mi Team Up for Special Concert

Old and new generations of Korean rock bands are joining forces to breathe new life into the band scene!

The Korea Music Culture Promotion Association announced that the “K-Band Spread Your Wings Vol.7” concert will take place on June 13 at the Korea Music Copyright Association’s basement venue in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

This performance is part of the “Korean Band Music Renaissance Project,” designed to bridge the roots, present, and future of band music while energizing the entire Korean rock scene.

The lineup features a diverse mix of artists, including the 1960s-70s brass soul legends Devils, Wi Il-cheong from “Seoul Family,” veteran rock band Gongjung-jeonhwa, emotional vintage rock band Sunset on the Bridge, and rising female vocalist Seo Mi.

Fans can look forward to special intergenerational collaborations! Wi Il-cheong and Seo Mi will perform a duet of the Seoul Family hit “Now” for the first time, and Devils will also collaborate with musicians from the younger generation.

There will be new music too! Devils will perform “Yeongjongdo Sky Gate,” and Sunset on the Bridge will showcase a track from their EP “Casual.” Seo Mi will reveal her new song “Each Room Couple,” while Gongjung-jeonhwa returns after three years with “Your Longed-for Name (Bird of Peace).”

For those unfamiliar, Devils is a 10-member band formed in 1968 and a symbol of Korean brass soul. Gongjung-jeonhwa has been active since 1988, while Sunset on the Bridge has been delivering vintage rock sounds and sensory narratives since 2019. Finally, Seo Mi is a rookie singer and former model who debuted last year.
