Rapper Simon Dominic is reminding everyone why he is the “K-hiphop boss” as he announces the release of his full album ‘ONYX’.
On the 13th, Simon Dominic surprised fans by dropping the music video for his pre-release track ‘Simon Says’. Without any prior warnings or big promotions, the video was released via his SNS and YouTube channel, instantly becoming a hot topic among music fans.
The music video focuses on Simon Dominic delivering heavy rap verses against the backdrop of a black-and-white exhibition space. Instead of flashy production, he completely dominates the atmosphere with his rap and sheer presence.

In this track, Simon Dominic delivers a powerful message with the lyrics, “Not the latest but current, not old, just classic,” defining himself as a rapper whose value lasts over time rather than just following trends. He also emphasized his pride in representing Korean hip-hop and his ongoing career with lyrics like “I represent Korean hip-hop at its finest” and “Can’t say I’ve made it yet, I’m still successin’.”
Fans are reacting with huge excitement! Comments are pouring in, saying, “Finally, some refreshing rain in a K-hiphop scene full of machine sounds,” “I thought he might be rusty, but his class is on another level,” and “He doesn’t sound outdated even in the Rage era. He brought something trendy that only Simon Dominic can pull off.”
The album ‘ONYX’, releasing on May 14 at 6 PM, will feature a total of 12 tracks, including the pre-release song ‘Simon Says’, as well as ‘DOM’, ‘느껴’, ‘감성’, ‘후반전’, ‘PPAP’, ‘No.1 Stunna’, ’10에서 10′, ‘R.A.P’, ‘Shhh’, ‘Lay Low’, and ‘Play On Playa’.
This marks Simon Dominic’s first official album activity in about four years since the release of ‘TTFU’ in 2022. In the meantime, he expanded his public recognition as the MC for the TVING dating show ‘환승연애’ series, though some hip-hop fans had been consistently asking him to return to his main job in music.
Previously, in 2018, he honestly opened up about his pressures and slump through the song ‘Me No Jay Park’ when he stepped down from his position as co-CEO of AOMG.
