Musical actor Son Jun-ho has shared a surprising story about IU’s eating habits.
On May 11, a video titled “IU’s eating habits that surprised Son Jun-ho | Yoo Min-sang’s Hungry Radio” was uploaded to the SBS Radio ‘Era-oh’ channel. The clip is a repurposed segment from the May 6 broadcast of SBS Love FM’s ‘Yoo Min-sang’s Hungry Radio’.
Son Jun-ho spoke about IU, mentioning that he and Kim So-hyun made special appearances in the MBC drama ’21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife’. He recalled, “She sat right next to me while getting her makeup done.” DJ Yoo Min-sang asked if they were getting their makeup done side-by-side.
Son Jun-ho shared, “I told her, ‘Hello, I’m a fan,’ and she replied, ‘Yes.’ I actually wondered if she was feeling shy around me.” He added, “Then it was mealtime, and it seemed like she hadn’t eaten yet. It was kimbap, right? Since I was right there getting my makeup done, I couldn’t help but notice. Not that I was staring!”
He explained, “She kept chewing slowly for over 30 minutes. She’s very slim and petite, so I thought she was eating more than I expected. But when she stood up to leave and said, ‘Keep up the good work,’ the kimbap was still there.”
Son Jun-ho revealed, “She puts just one piece of kimbap in her mouth and keeps chewing.” Kim So-hyun asked in disbelief, “She chewed for 30 minutes?” while Yoo Min-sang looked completely shocked.
Meanwhile, IU is known to maintain a weight of around 44kg. In 2024, she previously mentioned on a channel, “I think I chew about 150 times per bite.”
