BTS is set to put the finishing touches on the 2026 FIFA North America World Cup by performing at the final’s halftime show! Standing in the center of the final, where the eyes of the entire world will be watching, they are expected to once again cement the global status of K-pop.
FIFA and the international civic organization Global Citizen announced on the 14th (KST) that BTS will serve as a headliner for the World Cup final halftime show, taking place on July 19 at New Jersey Stadium in New York, USA. This marks the very first time a halftime show has been scheduled for a World Cup final. Joining BTS as co-headliners are legendary pop stars Madonna and Shakira. The show, produced by Global Citizen, is also garnering attention as Chris Martin of Coldplay is in charge of curation. This event is designed to promote the “FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund” and its fundraising campaign, aimed at expanding access to quality education and sports for children in marginalized areas worldwide.

BTS and the World Cup have a long and deep history.

Having made their return earlier this year with the full-length album “Arirang,” BTS is currently on a world tour of the same name. This tour, which has been creating huge buzz wherever they go, will continue at Stanford Stadium in California, USA, on the 17th, 18th, and 20th. This is the first time a Korean artist has performed at this venue, which boasts a capacity of over 50,000 people.
