Kang Mina Reveals Mirror Trauma After Filming ‘Girigo’: “I’m Scared of Encountering Ghosts!”

Actress Kang Mina has revealed that she is suffering from mirror trauma after filming “Girigo.”

On the 14th, a video titled “Kang Mina is Finally Back” was released on the YouTube channel “Life 84.”

In the episode, Kian84 sat down for a chat with Kang Mina, who is successfully navigating her second career as an actress after her time as an idol.

Reuniting with Kang Mina after a year, Kian84 noted, “You’ve lost more weight. You’re getting thinner,” to which Kang Mina replied, “I lost quite a bit of weight. I think I’ve lost about 10kg since the last time we met.”

Kang Mina recently starred as Lim Na-ri in the Netflix original “Girigo,” which hit global number one just two weeks after its release on the 24th of last month. Kian84 brought this up, asking, “Why did you come out as an iljin (school bully)? You were almost like a gangster,” and Kang Mina felt proud, asking, “Isn’t it too strong?”

The two then dove into the filming experience and behind-the-scenes stories from “Girigo.”

Kang Mina explained the premise of the show, saying, “‘Girigo’ is an app that grants wishes if you write your name and date of birth. Once the wish is granted, a timer starts, and you die when that timer stops.”

After summarizing the plot, Kang Mina mentioned a creepy urban legend featured in the series: “School bathrooms often have mirrors on both sides, right? There’s a saying that if you see yourself in the ninth mirror during the infinite reflection, you’ll lock eyes with a ghost.”

Kang Mina confessed that this left her feeling uneasy, admitting, “That felt a bit creepy to me. So even now, when I go into a bathroom with mirrors on both sides, I avoid the mirrors for fear of encountering a ghost.”

Curious about her experience, Kian84 asked, “Did you ever see a ghost during filming?” Kang Mina replied, “Not once. I’ve never seen a ghost, nor have I ever experienced sleep paralysis.”

Surprised by the answer, Kian84 remarked, “From my perspective, you have a strong energy. I think you’re quite strong,” and Kang Mina agreed, saying, “I think so. My energy seems to be like that.”
