Baby Rose, known for her deep, resonant voice that brings Nina Simone to mind, has announced that her new album ‘YEARNALISM’ will be released on July 10. She has also dropped the pre-release single ‘BUT, NVM’.
Baby Rose is set to release [YEARNALISM] through Secretly Canadian on July 10. To kick things off, the new track ‘But, Nvm’ and its accompanying music video have already been released.
This track explores various forms of love—including romantic love, self-love, and love for those around us—and focuses on the deep longing that stems from these emotions as the core theme of the album.
Directed by Amaya Segura and Rae Blackman, the music video visually captures Baby Rose’s analog sensibility and her respect for the legendary artists of the past who possessed outstanding performance and musicality. While staying true to her sincere emotional style, Baby Rose delivers a sound that is more refined and distinct than ever.

The previously released single ‘Friends Again,’ a collaboration with Leon Thomas, was the first glimpse into the album’s new direction. The track has become Baby Rose’s most successful song to date, racking up 14 million streams worldwide. This marks another collaboration between the two after ‘I USED TO’ from Leon Thomas’s Grammy-winning album MUTT.
Rooted in gospel and soul, Baby Rose is considered one of the most unique artists in the scene today. With 41.2 million total streams worldwide, she first caught the spotlight with her 2019 debut project [To Myself].
At the time, she earned support from stars like SZA, J. Cole, James Blake, Kehlani, and LeBron James, and received rave reviews from major outlets including The New York Times, Pitchfork, Vogue, NPR, Rolling Stone, and Billboard.
She further expanded her reach with an NPR Tiny Desk performance, a sold-out world tour, and appearances in the HBO series Insecure and Kenya Barris’s Grown-ish. She also earned a Grammy nomination for her work on Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III and contributed to albums by Big K.R.I.T. and Matt Martians.
In her 2023 release [Through and Through], she collaborated with Smino and Georgia Anne Muldrow to push genre boundaries. This was followed by the ‘Through The Soul’ tour with Q and the 2024 collaboration project [Slow Burn] with BADBADNOTGOOD. In 2025, she appeared in the A24 film “The Materialists,” featuring the songs ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ and ‘That’s All.’ Her 2026 release ‘Friends Again’ is currently her biggest commercial and critical hit.
[YEARNALISM] marks the beginning of a new chapter for Baby Rose. Drawing from soul, gospel, jazz, rock, and R&B, she blends the influence of classic soul and legendary female artists like Etta James, Nina Simone, and Janis Joplin with a modern touch. The album offers an intimate yet cinematic experience that leaves a lasting impression.
