Na Yul Opens Up About Resenting His Father After 30 Years: Lee Dong Jun's Heartfelt Advice on 'Special World'

Singer Na Yul has opened up about his complex emotions as he prepares to meet his father, who reached out to him after 30 long years.

In the May 14 broadcast of MBN’s ‘Special World’, Na Yul’s hidden family history was revealed.

During the episode, Na Yul shared his inner thoughts with senior singer Lee Dong Jun. He confessed, “I live with my mother. I’ve never seen my father, but he contacted me after 30 years.”

He continued, “I hated my father a lot. I wondered why he abandoned me,” and sought advice, adding, “I’m also curious about how my father feels from his perspective.”

Lee Dong Jun responded, “I don’t know the exact circumstances of how you were born and separated back then,” but shared his view, saying, “If I were the father, I would definitely try to meet you.”

He added, “It must be heartbreaking. Imagine how much he must miss you.” He advised, “You might wonder why you should meet a father you have no memory of, but there’s no harm in meeting him. You have nothing to lose.”

However, Na Yul honestly expressed his hesitation, saying, “I resented him so much. I still feel a strong desire not to meet him.”

Lee Dong Jun tried to persuade him, warning, “Your father is no longer young. He could pass away before you see him. If that happens, you’ll never have the chance.” He urged, “Meeting him while he’s still here would be the right thing to do to avoid future regrets.”
