A husband from the “Addicted Couple,” who used to earn 10 million won a month, revealed that he lost everything after becoming blinded by gambling and taking out loans.
In the JTBC variety show ‘Divorce Meditation Camp’ aired on the 14th, a domestic investigation video of the wife from the 21st “Addicted Couple” was revealed.
During the broadcast, the wife shocked viewers by expressing her hatred for her husband in front of their children. However, she sparked curiosity by claiming that “my husband is more at fault.”
The husband, who had been cheating through chatting apps since the beginning of their marriage—even while the wife was pregnant—had previously clashed with her. However, the marital conflict escalated severely three years ago when the husband started gambling.
The husband began gambling around October 2023 after seeing an employee at his courier agency increase the money they had borrowed.
Explaining how he started, the husband shared, “When I asked to borrow 1 million won, they would turn it into 2 or 3 million won. We used that money to eat and drink together.”
He confessed that he initially made 100 million won through gambling, which led to his greed growing.
The wife confessed, “My husband won 100 million won. At some point, he started losing all the money he had won. He kept saying he absolutely had to win back the lost money. So, I took out a loan of 100 million won in my name.”
She further explained, “He threatened to kill me if I didn’t (get the loan). He wasn’t in his right mind after losing money to gambling. Since he couldn’t get a loan in his own name, he told me to do it.”
The husband stated, “I lost 100 million won, won 100 million won back in 20 days, then won another 100 million won. And then I lost it all.”
Ultimately, the gambling debt reached approximately 235 million won in just six months. The couple’s debt, including card loans and business loans, totaled 180 million won, and they borrowed another 50 million won from the wife’s parents.
The wife explained, “The house was completely ruined because of my husband’s gambling, and we had no money for immediate living expenses, so I explained the situation to my mother and received the money.” However, she caused a stir by confessing that she also used that money as gambling stakes in hopes of winning. Hearing this, Park Ha-sun expressed her sadness, saying, “Both of them are addicted.”
The husband began spending all night gambling, neglecting the courier agency that provided their livelihood. When MC Seo Jang-hoon asked, “You were earning well and living prosperously through the courier business, so was it just a thought that you had to get it back?” the husband replied, “Because I made money easily, I fell into it.”
In the end, the husband had to hand over the courier agency to someone else and was left with nothing but debt, without even starting another job.
