The drama is heating up on ‘I am SOLO’ as viewers are shocked by the ongoing bullying among the female contestants of the 31st batch.
In the episode aired on May 13, the female contestants were once again seen talking behind Soon-ja’s back.
This follows last week’s controversy where Young-sook, Ok-sun, and Jung-hee were criticized for their comments about Soon-ja and Kyung-soo. Ok-sun, in particular, faced backlash for baseless claims, saying Soon-ja “almost tied Kyung-soo up” and that the two “don’t suit each other.” Interest peaked regarding whether she was being edited out after some clips on the ‘Village Chief Entertainment TV’ YouTube channel were deleted.
While Ok-sun’s screen time noticeably decreased in this episode, Young-sook has now become the center of the storm.
Soon-ja opened up about the situation, saying, “I was right there, but the people in the room were telling me to ‘go eat them all up’ (gossip)!” She added, “My mental state collapsed at that moment, and I started feeling physically ill.”
The tension escalated during the Super Date ticket competition. After Soon-ja won and Young-sook lost after falling, Young-sook showed an uncomfortable reaction. When another contestant comforted her by saying, “Young-sook is number one in our hearts,” Young-sook made an unverified comment, saying, “I think I tripped over someone’s moon.” Even MC Song Hae-na was seen looking unusually angry while watching this.
Due to continuous stress, Soon-ja suffered from stomach cramps and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. However, viewers’ anger intensified after a scene was aired where Young-sook mockingly asked, “Should I wail (cry loudly) once too?”
Online, some viewers compared the behavior of the female contestants to the villains in the Netflix series ‘The Glory’. Netizens have been criticizing them as the ‘The Solo-ry Trio,’ with comments like “Is it this bad even in an edited version?” and “This is too much.”
Amid the growing controversy, Ok-sun has set her SNS account to private. Jung-hee also sparked further debate after posting a brief apology and then deleting it.
Meanwhile, Ok-sun’s screen time is expected to increase significantly in the episode airing on the 20th. As she takes center stage in the narrative, all eyes are on how the other contestants will respond.
