Moon Sang-hoon, leader of the comedy crew BDNS, is making a bold move by transforming into a movie importer and distributor. After visiting the Cannes Film Market, LA, and Hong Kong to personally discover new films, the BDNS team will release the movie “Nirvana the Band” in theaters on the 20th.
“Nirvana the Band” follows the wild journey of an unknown band attempting to build a time machine. Tablo of the hip-hop group Epik High participated in the subtitle translation, adding his signature humor and wit to the film.
Moon Sang-hoon shared his year-long global quest for the best comedy movie through a series of videos on his YouTube channel. Instead of just releasing the final product, he turned the entire process of discovering and selecting the film into content, fully utilizing his strengths as a YouTube creator.
Lee Chang-ho is also making waves. Having gained popularity through his alter ego “Musical Actor Lee Ho-kwang” on the YouTube channel Ppang Song Guk, he has been cast as the lovable character Olaf in the Korean premiere of the musical “Frozen,” which opens on August 13. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how he brings Olaf’s charming personality to life.
Previously, Lee Chang-ho showcased his talent for adapting humor for Korean audiences by participating as a comedy adapter for the musical “Beetlejuice” staged last December.
This expansion is more than just broadening their horizons. It is evaluated that their YouTube experience, which involved planning content and communicating with the public in real-time, is breathing new life into traditional industries like movie importation and stage production.
