“You Said Let’s Give It a Try!” Lee Jae-wook and Shin Ye-eun’s Heart-Fluttering Chemistry in ‘Doctor Island Boy’ Main Trailer

First broadcast on June 1 at 10 PM

The production team of ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Doctor Island Boy’ (written by Kim Ji-soo, directed by Lee Myung-woo) released the main trailer on the 15th. The video captures Do Ji-yi (played by Lee Jae-wook) and Yuk Ha-ri (played by Shin Ye-eun) at the chaotic Pyundongdo health center.

Based on the webtoon ‘Jonber Doctor’, ‘Doctor Island Boy’ is a medical human romance featuring Do Ji-yi, a public health doctor who arrives at the notorious island of Pyundongdo, and Yuk Ha-ri, a nurse with many secrets. The story follows the two as they save people and learn about love through the island residents, who are as full of stories as they are of affection.

As Do Ji-yi struggles with his blurring identity as a soldier, doctor, and civil servant, Yuk Ha-ri is the one who keeps him grounded. With words like, “You have to clearly cross the line to save someone,” she suddenly steps in to stay by his side. Do Ji-yi is seen breaking down his walls and growing closer to her, saying, “You’re the one who said let’s give it a try.”

The fierce storms that will hit alongside these changes are also intriguing. The health center staff, who fear the sea and patients for their own reasons, spark curiosity. Yuk Ha-ri’s words, “The islanders here have only you to rely on when they’re sick,” and the smiles they exchange make fans eager to see how this island, once a place they wanted to escape, becomes a place they want to stay.

Planned as a 12-episode series, ‘Doctor Island Boy’ will premiere on June 1 at 10 PM on ENA and will also be available on Genie TV and Disney+.
