Girls' Generation's Tiffany Young Loves Being Called 'Hyung-nim'!

Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany Young is totally on board with being called “Hyung-nim”!

On the May 15 broadcast of KBS Cool FM’s “Paul Kim’s Gayo Gwangjang” segment “Gagwang Guest Seat, Meeting You,” Tiffany Young appeared as a guest to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her solo debut.

During the show, a listener sent in a message saying, “My husband asks why they call Tiffany ‘Tiffany Hyung-nim’.”

Tiffany Young explained that this happens quite often, saying, “People say ‘Young-nim’ sounds like ‘Hyung-nim’. Lee Mu-jin was doing a live stream and called me ‘Young-nim’, but I think it sounded like ‘Hyung-nim’.”

She added, “I think this is actually good. Since I love rich band sounds when I make music, I thought I could just be the ‘Hyung-nim’ among my junior musicians.” Paul Kim agreed, acknowledging that she is indeed the “Hyung-nim” among musicians.

Meanwhile, Tiffany Young was born in 1989 and is 36 years old. Born in San Francisco, California, USA, she debuted as a member of the group Girls’ Generation in 2007 and released a solo album in 2016. While she promoted as “Tiffany” from the start, she added her middle name “Young” to her stage name in 2018 when she debuted as a solo artist in the US.
