FANTASY BOYS' Agency Appeals to Supreme Court, Announces Major Damages Lawsuit After Contract Dispute Ruling

Get ready for more legal drama! FANTASY BOYS’ agency is not backing down after the members won their injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts. The agency has announced they’re appealing to the Supreme Court and planning a massive damages lawsuit!

On the 15th, FANTASY BOYS’ agency revealed that both production company Funky Studio and agency PocketDol Studio are gearing up for an immediate appeal to the Supreme Court, challenging the court’s decision to grant the injunction.

An agency official voiced their frustration, claiming the court’s decision “overlooks entertainment industry practices.” They argued that the ruling was based “solely on the lack of some evidentiary materials” for a “global project with over 10 billion won invested.”

Flashback to 2023: FANTASY BOYS debuted through MBC’s survival show ‘Fantasy Boys – After School Excitement Season 2.’ But things got rocky last November when six members—Kang Minseo, Lee Hanbin, Hikaru, Hong Seongmin, Kim Gyurae, and K-Soul—filed an injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts. Their reasons? Alleged non-provision of settlement data and a breakdown of trust, kicking off a major legal showdown!

In a recent win for the members, FANTASY BOYS successfully secured the injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts! PocketDol Studio immediately filed an objection, but the court once again sided with the members on the 14th in the injunction objection case.

The agency isn’t stopping there! They announced that, alongside efforts to overturn the injunction, they’ll be filing powerful damages lawsuits against the individual members who allegedly left without permission, as well as the entire team. They declared, “Through the main lawsuit, we will clearly reveal the truth of the matter and do our utmost to compensate related companies and investors for their damages.”

Despite the internal turmoil, four members—Hikari, Lingqi, Kim Wooseok, and Oh Hyeontae—are reportedly continuing their domestic and international schedules without a hitch. The agency firmly stated, “We will maintain an uncompromising, strong response to actions that disrupt the exclusive contract order.”
