The 79th Cannes International Film Festival is currently in full swing in the southern French city of Cannes as of May 15 (local time).
With Director Park Chan-wook making headlines as the first Korean to be appointed as the Jury President for the Palme d’Or, ‘Gunche’ is the first Korean film to meet the Cannes audience this year.

Officially invited to the Midnight Screening section, ‘Gunche’ will finally be unveiled on the 16th at 12:30 AM.
‘Gunche’ tells the story of isolated survivors trapped in a building during a mysterious infection outbreak, fighting against infected individuals who evolve in unpredictable ways. The film garnered huge attention even before its release thanks to its star-studded cast, including Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-bin, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo.
Actors Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-bin, and Kim Shin-rok met with global press during a photocall on May 15 at 11 AM (local time).

In true K-style fashion, Director Yeon Sang-ho’s cute heart pose, along with the “K-ball hearts” from Koo Kyo-hwan and Ji Chang-wook, stole the spotlight.
Jun Ji-hyun boasted doll-like visuals, emphasizing a clean charm with a black and white point look. Shin Hyun-bin exuded an elegant atmosphere, drawing attention with a sophisticated mood created by her updo hairstyle and beige outfit.
Kim Shin-rok created a lovely vibe with a bright smile and finger heart pose. Her white suit and short hairstyle further enhanced her sophisticated charm.

Meanwhile, ‘Gunche’ marks Director Yeon Sang-ho’s fourth invitation to Cannes, following his first feature animation ‘The King of Pigs,’ as well as ‘Train to Busan’ and ‘Peninsula.’ The film will be released domestically on the 21st.
