It is time for his first song in a new home! Singer Park Hyun-gyu is officially making a comeback.
On the 15th at 6 PM, his agency SM C&C dropped the music video teaser for his new track ‘Aurora (青春)’ on their official YouTube channel, announcing his return.
A former member of the vocal group VROMANCE, Park Hyun-gyu is a powerhouse vocalist known for his unique tone and incredible singing skills. He left a lasting impression as Singer 37 on the 2021 JTBC audition show ‘Sing Again 2’ with his deep emotion and vocal depth. He recently signaled a new leap forward after signing an exclusive contract with SM C&C this past January.
The released teaser is visually stunning, featuring a giant robot and a flying boy and girl set against a vast landscape. The robot and character designs naturally blend Korean sentiments by incorporating motifs from traditional Korean armor and Hanbok.
With the two characters facing each other and flying beneath the aurora, the cinematic direction feels like an emotional SF fantasy movie. The grand sound paired with Park Hyun-gyu’s signature refreshing yet powerful voice is a total feast for the eyes and ears.
Park Hyun-gyu’s new song ‘Aurora’ celebrates the beauty of youth, even in its incompleteness. The track compares youth to an aurora, describing how it creates countless starlight even while colliding and breaking.
Before the official release, Park Hyun-gyu will hold a surprise busking performance on the 16th at 2 PM at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul. He plans to spend special time with fans, performing ‘Aurora’ along with stages from ‘Sing Again 2’ and songs from his VROMANCE days.
