CIX's Yunhyunseok Shows Unexpected Charm in 'My Little Chef' with an Obsessive Twist Alongside Lee Na-eun

Yunhyunseok (Hyunseok) of CIX is expanding his acting horizons in ‘My Little Chef’, captivating viewers with a surprising twist in his charm.

Now growing as a global acting-dol, Yunhyunseok has built a high-tension narrative of obsession alongside Lee Na-eun.

In ‘My Little Chef’, which premiered on May 14 via the short-form drama OTT platform Vigloo, Yunhyunseok plays the role of Doyun, drawing viewers in with his detailed character expression.

‘My Little Chef’ is based on a game of the same name and follows Choi Noma (played by Lee Na-eun), a fallen heir to a food conglomerate, as she grows into a leader through cooking competitions. Doyun, played by Hyunseok, is Noma’s former classmate from cooking school. While he consistently supports and cheers for Noma, he eventually reveals a chilling side that ramps up the tension.

In the series, Yunhyunseok intensely portrays a twisted obsession hidden behind pure love. Doyun shows his sweet side by fighting off malicious commenters for Noma and giving her homemade pudding when she is upset over a loss. However, he also displays a creepy side, obsessively gathering information and investigating those around Noma to win her heart.

Hyunseok also gives a multi-dimensional performance as Doyun’s inner turmoil reaches an extreme. As Noma and Taewoo (played by Choi Bo-min) grow closer, Doyun does not hesitate to cross the line, even intentionally injuring his hand to bleed and orchestrating calculated schemes for a shocking twist.

Yunhyunseok has been steadily building his career as an actor through various dramas, starting with ‘Falling in Love with a Gangster’, followed by ‘The World You’re Missing’, ‘The Chairman is Grade 9’, ‘The Youngest Son of the Prime Minister’s House’s First Love’, ‘Probability of Meeting Romance on a Trip Season 3.5’, and ‘Me, Me and Me’.

He proved his stable acting skills by challenging himself with a historical drama in ‘The Youngest Son of the Prime Minister’s House’s First Love’, which was released in Japan last year via the global short-drama platform Kanta, officially leaping forward as a ‘global acting-dol’. With his latest transformation in ‘My Little Chef’, expectations for his future acting journey are higher than ever.
