A piece by webtoon artist and entertainer Kian84 is grabbing headlines after being listed for 150 million won on a second-hand trading platform.
Recently, a listing for Kian84’s work ‘Starry Cheongdam’ appeared on the second-hand platform Karrot. The seller is located in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and has set the price at 150 million won.
The seller described the piece as an original painting and stated they are selling it due to a move. They added, “The iconography is more unique than other works, and the oil touch is different. Please only make offers if you are truly interested.”
‘Starry Cheongdam’ was exhibited during Kian84’s first solo exhibition, ‘Full Possession,’ held from March 25 to April 5, 2022. At the time, Kian84 identified ‘desire’ as the core theme of the exhibition.

Through his YouTube channel, Kian84 explained, “I thought about what I want most and what other people want most. Talking about this might make me seem greedy or shallow, but I believe that for Koreans, who laugh, cry, and spend their whole lives paying off loans, it’s real estate. That’s why I created real estate-themed works as the main focus.”
‘Starry Cheongdam’ was the first piece he painted on the theme of real estate. Kian84 shared, “When I run along the Han River, I see Cheongdam Xi, and to me, it looks cool. It’s like a treasure. Not the kind of treasure you see in social studies books, but I think people these days view apartments along the Han River as treasures.” He added that he loves Van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’ and decided to create a parody of it.
Kian84 also presented a series of works with the same theme, including ‘Starry Apgujeong,’ ‘Starry Seongsu,’ and ‘Starry Jamsil.’ This particular work was also introduced on MBC’s ‘I Live Alone.’
This isn’t the first time one of Kian84’s paintings has appeared on a second-hand platform. In 2024, a piece titled ‘Life Adjustment Time 4’ was listed in the Gangnam area. The asking price was initially 30 million won before being adjusted to 21 million won.
Meanwhile, Kian84 donated 87 million won in proceeds from his first solo exhibition, ‘Full Possession.’
