Nam Jin and Cho Young-nam’s Hilarious Bickering on ‘Dongchimi’: “Why Even Get Married?”

The second part of MBN’s ‘Dongchimi’ 700th episode special, titled “Oppa’s Loved Fiery,” aired on the 16th, featuring Cho Young-nam, Nam Jin, and Seol Woon-do showing off their unfiltered chemistry and half-century friendship.

During the show, Kim Yong-man asked Nam Jin which actress he found the most beautiful. Without hesitation, Nam Jin chose Nam Jung-im, recalling, “It’s a personal preference, but Nam Jung-im was tall and had a personality that men loved.” Seol Woon-do then added fuel to the fire by revealing, “For your information, Nam Jin sunbae likes the glamorous style,” leaving the set in laughter.

Cho Young-nam also shared a memory of Nam Jung-im, mentioning a kiss scene they filmed together. He joked, “Someone told me I even brought my toothbrush that day.” He clarified that he didn’t have any other thoughts because his girlfriend (now ex-wife) was by his side at the time. Hearing this, Nam Jin immediately threw a curveball to the divorced Cho Young-nam, asking, “Then why didn’t you just stay married?” which caused an explosion of laughter.

As Nam Jin continued to receive praise for his strict self-care and timeless looks, Cho Young-nam seemed to get increasingly irritated. He eventually shouted “Hey!” at Noh Sa-yeon. To smooth things over, Noh Sa-yeon complimented him, saying, “Cho Young-nam was the person I most wanted to see before my debut. He sang so well.”

However, Noh Sa-yeon quickly added, “But Nam Jin has no wrinkles around his ears and no grey hair. On the other hand, Cho Young-nam has plenty.” Cho Young-nam jokingly attacked back, saying, “Nam Jin just used the power of medicine.” This finally pushed the usually gentlemanly Nam Jin to his limit, as he exclaimed, “He’s the only one who does this to me!” leaving the studio in chaos.

Even after that, Cho Young-nam continued to jokingly call Nam Jin “punk,” showing the comfort of friends who have known each other for decades. Nam Jin tried to stop him, saying, “Friend, we’re on a broadcast!” showing their real-life friend chemistry.

In the “Counseling Center” segment, Cho Young-nam argued that even after marriage, people should live however they want. Nam Jin fired back once more, “Then why even get married?” continuing their bickering chemistry until the end.
