Rain appeared on the KBS 2TV music talk show The Seasons – Sung Si Kyung’s Gomak Namchin and took a trip down memory lane to his debut days.
During the show, Sung Si Kyung mentioned, “Isn’t your debut song ‘Bad Guy’? I heard you sang a song that the entire nation would know even before your official debut.”
Rain then sang the KBS logo song on the spot! When asked if that was the reason for his appearance, he jokingly replied, “I told you, I’m the son of KBS.”
Recalling how it happened, Rain shared, “Before my debut in 2000, Jinyoung hyung called me to the recording studio. He told me to try it for KBS. He suddenly said ‘Got it’ and left, and a year later, it was released as the KBS logo song.”
He added with a laugh, “Until now, I’ve received nothing. I heard from Jinyoung hyung that this song is #1 in royalties!”
A surprised Sung Si Kyung joked, “Since he was just a trainee who hadn’t debuted yet, using this voice to promote KBS shows the immense power of Park Jin Young, so he should take 90-something percent. Theoretically, it’s correct. Shall we just let it slide?” leaving everyone in stitches.
