Singer Pyun Seung-yup has candidly shared his feelings regarding his three divorces, past scandals, and his fourth marriage, which he revealed after 15 years.
Pyun Seung-yup confessed that he didn’t have a wedding ceremony with his current wife, admitting, “I was afraid of being alone again.” He expressed deep affection for her, stating, “She is the person who suffered the most by my side, and the person I treated the worst.”
The couple first met through a water skiing hobby group. Pyun explained, “We were acquaintances, and as time passed, my wife returned from Japan, and we got back in touch.” He revealed that he decided to marry her after discovering that his wife, who is two years younger than him, had remained single because of him.
Pyun also looked back on the difficult times he faced due to three divorces, scandals, and legal battles. He shared, “Although I won legally, I felt the cold stares of the public,” adding, “It was hard to perform properly because of the audience’s reactions.” He eventually shared that he had to stop his singing activities and leave the stage for a while.
Pyun also showed his love for his five children. He revealed that he has raised five siblings, including his second daughter Pyun Su-ji, who debuted as the leader of the girl group BP Pop in 2013. Saying, “I always feel sorry toward my children,” he added that the siblings stay in touch and get along well. He also expressed gratitude, noting that his current wife and children are living harmoniously.
Additionally, he shared a story about volunteering to raise his grandchildren. Pyun, who personally cared for his eldest daughter’s children for three years, beamed with a proud smile, mentioning that his grandchild has perfect pitch.
