tvN’s variety show ‘You Quiz on the Block’ (hereafter ‘You Quiz’) posted a preview on its official account on the 17th for the episode airing on the 20th, highlighting Gong Seungyeon as the pillar of support for Jeongyeon during her most difficult times.
Jeongyeon shared, “I had never heard the word ‘Cushing’ before. I’m so grateful to my sister that I could receive treatment and get healthy again.”
Back in 2020, Jeongyeon was diagnosed with Cushing’s Syndrome due to steroid side effects while treating a neck disc, which caused rapid weight gain. Even during this time, she continued her activities as a full member of TWICE and has recently successfully managed her weight.
When Yoo Jae-suk asked, “I heard that when Jeongyeon’s health declined to the point where she had to pause activities for a while, Seungyeon suggested you live together,” Gong Seungyeon replied, “At that time, Jeongyeon was struggling so much, and I felt anxious leaving her alone. Whether she was at the dorm or at my house, I wanted to keep her by my side. That’s why I suggested we live together. I’m so grateful she overcame it.”
She added, “I’m also very happy to hear people say my sister has become so beautiful and regained her peak visuals. She’s someone who does everything properly and does it well, so I have no doubt in her.”
