Former KBS announcer Kim Young-gil, the husband of actress Kim Young-ok, has passed away at the age of 89.
Kim passed away on the 17th after a long illness. Kim Young-ok is serving as a chief mourner alongside their children and grandchildren.
The funeral is being held at the Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital funeral home, with the burial scheduled for 8 AM on the 19th at Donghwa Gyeongmo Park.
Kim Young-ok married Kim in 1960, and they had two sons and one daughter. She previously shared their sweet love story on MBN’s ‘Modern Family’, recalling, “We first met in the broadcasting club at Chung-Ang University. My husband was in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy, and I was in the Department of Korean Language and Literature. We became closer when he joined as an announcer. I married at the age of 24 right after I stopped being an announcer and became a voice actor.”
