Taeyang has opened up about why he reached out to Tarzan and Woochan from All Day Project for a collaboration!
A special listening party for Taeyang’s 4th full-length album, ‘QUINTESSENCE’, took place on the afternoon of the 18th at the Cube Convention Center in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
‘QUINTESSENCE’ marks Taeyang’s first release in three years since his 3rd mini album ‘Down to Earth’ in April 2023, and his first full-length album in a whopping nine years! True to its name, which means ‘essence,’ the album showcases Taeyang’s distinct musical identity. It’s said to capture the questions, emotions, and his own personal attitude discovered during his journey of self-discovery.
The album consists of 10 tracks, featuring the title track ‘LIVE FAST DIE SLOW,’ which embodies a strong will to keep moving forward. Other highlights include ‘BAD,’ which paints a picture of his non-stop journey through his unique vocals, and ‘WOULD YOU,’ featuring Tarzan and Woochan of All Day Project.
Drawing attention to the participation of his agency juniors, All Day Project, Taeyang shared the story behind the collab: “Watching All Day Project debut and promote, for some reason, it reminded me of BIGBANG’s early debut days. While working on this song, I felt that if these guys added their rap, it would perfectly capture that freshness and texture we had when we first started. That’s why I asked them to join me.”
