BTS RM visited Stanford University, the alma mater of Epik High’s Tablo, and sparked laughter by paying a special homage to him.
On the 19th, RM posted a photo on his SNS with the caption “Crying Tree…” The image shows RM sitting in front of the famous “Crying Tree” on the Stanford University campus in California, gazing into the distance.
The “Crying Tree” is a symbolic location stemming from a documentary where Tablo, who had suffered through academic forgery controversies, visited his alma mater and shed tears in front of a tree. Previously, when RM and Suga appeared as guests on Epik High’s YouTube channel, the Epik High members suggested visiting the “Crying Tree” after learning that BTS would be performing at the Stanford Stadium. RM caught everyone’s attention by actually visiting the tree and leaving a proof shot.
RM’s outfit is particularly eye-catching. Wearing a grey zip-up hoodie, a black beanie, and a backpack, RM recreated the exact look Tablo wore in a photo taken at the same tree when he visited Stanford with other Epik High members last year.
Tablo also added to the fun by sharing side-by-side photos of himself and RM on his SNS, captioning it, “Namjoon actually went to the Crying Tree omg.”
Additionally, RM shared a photo of himself riding a bicycle on campus with the playful caption, “Hyung, the Stanford campus is killer.”
Meanwhile, BTS is holding a total of three performances at Stanford Stadium on the 16th, 17th, and 19th as part of the “BTS World Tour Arirang.”
