Rapper Sleepy has revealed an unexpected friendship with Song Ga-in!
On the May 21 broadcast of KBS CoolFM’s ‘Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show,’ Park Myung-soo spent some time chatting with listeners in the ‘Sosin Bal-eon’ corner alongside guests Shim Jin-hwa and Sleepy.
Before diving into the main segment, Park Myung-soo caught up with Shim Jin-hwa and Sleepy about their recent lives.
During the chat, Park Myung-soo brought up Sleepy’s father’s 70th birthday party, which had previously made headlines for inviting ‘Trot Empress’ Song Ga-in. Both Park Myung-soo and Shim Jin-hwa were amazed, asking things like, “She must have such a great personality!” and “How on earth did you get her to come?”
Expressing his gratitude, Sleepy shared, “She sang three or four songs for us.” He then revealed their deep connection, saying, “My family is actually connected to her. We come from a traditional Korean music background, and she was my aunt’s student. I’ve known her since she went by the name Eun-sim, before she debuted as Song Ga-in.”
Sleepy further added, “She even sang a congratulatory song at my wedding!” This left Park Myung-soo feeling envious, jokingly pleading, “Since you’re so close, please ask her to do the same for my 60th birthday!” which left everyone in laughter.
