‘Malja Show’ is bringing a special episode of ‘Malja-ting’!
KBS 2TV’s ‘Malja Show’ will record a special episode titled ‘Some and Malja-ting’ (hereafter ‘Malja-ting’) on the 31st. ‘Malja-ting’ is a popular segment within ‘Malja Show’ where Kim Young-hee arranges instant blind dates while offering on-site counseling.
The production team shared that many solo viewers tune in to ‘Malja Show,’ adding, “We felt it was a shame to only connect one or two couples per episode, so we decided to go bigger for this special.”
The response has been explosive starting from the application stage. While ‘Malja Show’ usually sees about 10,000 applicants with around 800 attending, the number of applicants for the ‘Malja-ting’ special has doubled. The production team explained that while the usual competition rate is over 10 to 1, it is expected to reach about 25 to 1 for this special.
Comedian Kim Ji-yu and a relationship and marriage expert will join as special guests. In particular, Kim Ji-yu reportedly expressed a strong desire to appear, hoping to find a special someone through ‘Malja-ting.’
The ‘Malja Show’ team mentioned they plan to hold ‘Malja-ting’ specials regularly depending on the reaction. They also noted, “We aren’t only looking for unmarried men and women. We welcome everyone, including married individuals who can offer advice or older singles.”
The production team added, “In these tough times, many people worry about dating and marriage, but we believe age and environment aren’t important when it comes to love. We hope ‘Malja-ting’ becomes an opportunity for love to bloom.”
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV’s ‘Malja Show’ is a talk variety show featuring the ‘Gag Concert’ character ‘Malja Halmae’ that depicts genuine communication across generations and relationships. It airs every Monday at 9:30 PM.
