Lee Ha-neul Faces New Legal Battle Over Conflict With Jubitrain

Lee Ha-neul has been sent to trial on charges of defamation.

According to a report by Star News, the Goyang Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court’s Criminal Division 6 is scheduled to hold the first hearing for Lee Ha-neul on June 12 regarding defamation charges under the Information and Communications Network Act.

The legal battle began after Lee Ha-neul was indicted for allegedly spreading false information about rapper Jubitrain and staff members of Jubitrain’s agency.

Jubitrain’s agency, Basecamp Studio, previously revealed that Lee Ha-neul was fined 2 million won for insults in January and received a summary indictment from the Goyang Branch of the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors’ Office in February.

The agency stated that since 2024, Lee Ha-neul has raised allegations involving drugs, sex crimes, and embezzlement against Jubitrain and the agency’s CEO through personal live broadcasts and industry contacts. However, they explained that these matters were concluded as either not proven or in favor of the opposing party following investigations by labor authorities and prosecutors.

Furthermore, the agency claims that Lee Ha-neul repeatedly made false assertions while hiding the actual facts. They noted that investigations into violations of the Information and Communications Network Act, defamation, insults, and false accusations are still ongoing. It was also revealed that Lee Ha-neul has been additionally booked on the same charges, and some accomplices have been sent to the prosecution.
