A husband who lost both legs and his left arm in a dump truck accident and the wife who stayed by his side until the end have touched viewers’ hearts.
In the second part of MBC’s “Oh Eun-young Report – Again, Love” airing on the 25th, the story of a “hands and feet couple” who hold onto each other after a devastating accident will be revealed.
During the broadcast, the husband recalled the accident, saying a dump truck suddenly turned right and hit him while he was cycling. He shared, “My arm got caught in the tire and the bike was sucked in. I could even hear the sound of my arm crushing.”
After the accident, the husband lost both legs and his left arm. After barely regaining consciousness and checking his condition, he confessed, “I wondered how I could live without limbs. I thought I should just die.”
By his side was his wife, who never left. Recalling the time in front of the operating room, she burst into tears, saying, “My only thought was that he just shouldn’t die. I kept praying for him to survive.”
Since then, the wife has become her husband’s hands and feet, enduring daily life together. The sight of her supporting him through rehabilitation and every aspect of his daily life added to the sadness.
The husband revealed that he still hasn’t escaped the aftermath of the accident. He said, “When I close my eyes, the moment of the accident keeps coming back, making it hard to sleep,” and added, “My wife told me not to ride the bike that day, so I keep regretting why I did and why I took that specific path.”
Dr. Oh Eun-young diagnosed that not only the husband but also the wife is suffering from severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She emphasized the importance of professional treatment and the recovery process, stating, “PTSD is not something that recovers just by enduring it.”
The story of the husband, who lost the will to live after the major accident, and the wife, who wants to help him stand again, left a deep sense of sorrow.
