Song Geon-hee is making a return to ‘Scarecrow’ as truths from 30 years ago finally come to light.
On the 25th, the production team of ENA’s Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Scarecrow’ (written by Lee Ji-hyun, directed by Park Jun-woo) released still cuts showing Kang Tae-joo (played by Park Hae-soo), Cha Si-young (played by Lee Hee-joon), and Seo Ji-won (played by Kwak Sun-young) in the present year of 2019 ahead of tonight’s 11th episode. In particular, the photos caught everyone’s attention by featuring Cha Young-beom (played by Song Geon-hee), a young man who looks exactly like Lee Ki-beom (also played by Song Geon-hee), who suffered an unfair death during the investigation of a brutal serial murder case.
Previously, Kang Tae-joo discovered that Cha Si-young and other detectives had hidden the body of Yoon Hye-jin (played by Lee A-rin) after a confession from Park Dae-ho (played by Ryu Hae-jun). The shock peaked when Kang Tae-joo, while tracking the body, was actually buried alive by Cha Si-young in a shocking ending. Meanwhile, despite Seo Ji-won’s efforts, Im Seok-man (played by Baek Seung-hwan) was sentenced to life imprisonment at the final trial of the 7th case. Finally, the truth was revealed after 30 years by Lee Yong-woo (played by Jung Moon-sung), the actual culprit behind the serial murders.

The released still cuts hint at a new turn of events. In the present, where Kang Tae-joo and Cha Si-young reunite, Cha Si-young is seen wearing a golden badge indicating he is a member of the National Assembly, sparking anger. He appears highly guarded upon hearing that the real culprit of the serial murders has been caught. This leaves fans curious about who will emerge as the winner of this 30-year-old game of truth.
Another photo draws attention with the familiar face of young Cha Young-beom. Cha Young-beom is an intern reporter digging into the serial murder case that has resurfaced following the real culprit’s confession. Fans are excited for Song Geon-hee’s dual role, transitioning from Lee Ki-beom, who died from the aftereffects of torture after being falsely accused, to a young reporter chasing the truth.

Regarding this, the ‘Scarecrow’ production team stated, “11회부터는 2019년 현재를 배경으로, 30년 전 사건의 숨겨진 진실들이 다시 수면 위로 떠오른다” (Starting from episode 11, the story is set in the present year of 2019, and the hidden truths of the incident from 30 years ago will surface once again). They added confidently, “The change in relationships between the characters meeting again after a long time is also a key point to watch.”
With only two episodes remaining, the 12-episode series ‘Scarecrow’ is entering its final week. After hitting a series-high viewership rating of 7.9% in episode 10, all eyes are on whether ‘Scarecrow’ will set a new record once again.
