The long-running variety show ‘Running Man’ is seeing another change in its production team. PD Kang Hyung-sun is leaving the program for childbirth, paving the way for a new PD system.
In the episode aired on the 24th, the cast shared a final farewell with PD Kang Hyung-sun alongside returning writers.

However, some bittersweet news followed. Yoo Jae-suk revealed, “Today is PD Hyung-sun’s last day,” adding, “She is leaving for childbirth.” Kim Jong-kook responded, “Since she’s leaving for such a happy reason, it’s a blessing,” and Ji Suk-jin also offered his support, calling it a “blessing.”
The production team announced via captions, “From next week, we will continue to run excitedly with a new PD,” signaling a fresh start.
PD Kang Hyung-sun has been directing ‘Running Man’ since late last year. Previously, PD Choi Hyung-in, who led the show for about five years, stepped down in December last year due to childbirth. Following that, PD Kang Hyung-sun, who had been directing SBS’s ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams Season 2 – You Are My Destiny’, took over the baton.
First aired in 2010, ‘Running Man’ remains a flagship SBS variety show and is loved as Korea’s longest-running variety program. As it continues to be popular despite member and staff changes, fans are curious to see if the atmosphere of the show will shift with yet another change in the main PD.
