A high-energy video of BTS performing in Las Vegas set the stage for the opening of the ‘AMA 2026’.
The ‘2026 American Music Awards’ (AMA 2026) took place on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA (May 26, 9 AM KST).
The host officially kicked off ‘AMA 2026’ by introducing the clip as “BTS’s Las Vegas performance video, returning after 4 years.”
The footage featured the performance of ‘Hooligan’ from their recent world tour held at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada, USA.
After the performance ended, the host asked the crowd, “We started the AMA with BTS, how was it?” and the audience responded with massive cheers.
The ‘American Music Awards’ is one of the top three popular music awards in the US, selecting nominees based on streaming, sales, and radio airplay. This year, BTS is nominated for the prestigious ‘Artist of the Year’ award, while KATSEYE is nominated for ‘New Artist of the Year’. Additionally, the Netflix animation ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ is up for ‘Best Soundtrack’, and the track ‘Golden’ is nominated for ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best Vocal Performance’, and ‘Best Pop Song’.
