Group AND2BLE has arrived with the most perfect frame discovered at the intersection of all senses. Driven by the instinctive emotion of “curiosity,” AND2BLE has crossed the threshold of their debut and is fully prepared to sail toward a new world as the “perfect combination.”
On the afternoon of the 26th, a media showcase for AND2BLE’s first mini album, “Sequence 01: Curiosity,” was held at the Blue Square Woori WON Bank Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
AND2BLE is the first boy group presented by YH Entertainment in about four years since TEMPEST. The group consists of Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, and Han Yujin, who previously promoted as members of ZEROBASEONE, and Yoo Seung-eon, a former member of EVNNE. Even before their official debut, they garnered immense expectations from music fans globally as “complete rookies” boasting vocals, performance, and visuals.
The youngest member, Han Yujin, shared his determination, saying, “I’m happy and excited to fill my life as a member of AND2BLE. I will continue to show you a cool side of myself.”
The name AND2BLE is a combination of “AND” and “DOUBLE,” signifying the expansion of “being myself” as various inner dimensions overlap rather than showing just a fragmentary side. Regarding the team name, which reflects the direction of combining each member’s individuality and identity to form a unique image and brand, Zhang Hao explained, “Our strength is that each member has a distinct personality. I believe that when our differences come together as a team, it creates synergy. Our performance, vocals, and overall team atmosphere harmonize well.”
Confident in their lineup, AND2BLE expressed, “We prepared even harder because we believed a cool team would be born. I’ve gained confidence that with these members, we can make K-pop history. Since we’ve been together for a long time since our trainee days, we’ll be a great team.”
The first mini album “Sequence 01: Curiosity,” which marks the beginning of AND2BLE, serves as the prologue to their future journey and explores “curiosity,” the most instinctive emotion humans encounter. AND2BLE previews the infinite expansion of “being myself” through the overlapping of various inner selves, depicting the moment excitement and wonder for an unfamiliar world bloom, and unfolding the subtle inner changes the members experience in the process.
The title track “Curious” features lyrics written by members Zhang Hao and Ricky. It captures their confidence and ambition to fearlessly face the changes that a dangerous curiosity might bring at the moment of a new beginning. It is an energetic EDM track combining synth-pop and future house elements, boasting a powerful addictiveness with a harmony of house beats and thick synth bass that is unforgettable once heard.
Han Yujin added, “It was fascinating because it’s a style of song I’ve never heard before. During the album production process, I prepared it with the heart of wanting to let many people know about it.”
A performance that provides visual overwhelm within a dark atmosphere is one of the key points of “Curious.” While double bass pop sounds placed between intense beats add musical flair, the control of powerful choreography and heavy steps maximizes the immersion of the performance. Notably, dancer Casper, who created choreography for representative K-pop artists such as EXO’s “Ko Ko Bop,” Taemin’s “Guilty,” and SHINee’s “Don’t Call Me,” contributed to the choreography to enhance its perfection.
Regarding the goals he wants to achieve as AND2BLE, Ricky said, “A short-term goal is to win a rookie award this year, and further, I want to perform in various places around the world and meet fans more closely. My ultimate goal is to remain a group that represents a generation.”
Zhang Hao, who crossed the threshold of debut with curiosity, mentioned his future direction, saying, “I prepared this album with the determination to show a grown-up side. I definitely want to show you our side as five men. ‘Change’ is the theme of this debut. I am approaching this with the resolve to show ‘change’ in the literal sense of the word.”
Meanwhile, AND2BLE will release their first mini album “Sequence 01: Curiosity” through various music sites today (26th) at 6 PM. They will then take their first step into the music industry by holding a simultaneous online and offline fan showcase at the Blue Square Woori WON Bank Hall in Seoul at 8 PM on the same day.
