Wonpil returned to the scene on March 30 with his first mini album ‘Unpiltered’ and the title track ‘Love Ward’. Having debuted with DAY6 in September 2015, this new release marks his first solo project in about four years since his first full-length solo album ‘Pilmography’ in February 2022.
On the afternoon of May 4, the music video for ‘Piano’, a track from his first mini album, was released on JYP Entertainment’s official YouTube channel, immediately grabbing fans’ attention. The MV blends lyrical piano melodies with Wonpil’s soulful voice and deep emotional acting to create a lasting impression. ‘Piano’ is a dynamic track that starts with a minimal arrangement and gradually builds up with various sounds. Wonpil wrote the lyrics and participated in the composition, expressing the longing felt after parting with a loved one.
To ensure Wonpil’s voice and sincerity reach everyone, JYP Entertainment created a barrier-free environment for audience members with hearing impairments. In collaboration with the non-profit organization Hearcycle, they introduced an Auracast listening assistance system that transmits audio to receivers regardless of spatial limitations. This marks the first time a Korean entertainment company has implemented such a system.
Meanwhile, DAY6 is currently in the middle of their 10th anniversary tour ‘The DECADE’. The tour continues with stops in Macau on the 9th, Busan on the 16th and 17th, and Kobe on June 20th and 21st.
