Cha Dong Hyeop (Cha Jun Ho, Kim Dong Yun, Lee Hyeop) recently held an interview at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their first single, “Dugeundae.”
During the interview, Lee Hyeop shared his hopes, saying, “I hope people use our song a lot on social media. I’d love for there to be moments where our music naturally plays while people are walking through the streets or shopping malls.”
He continued, “I hope many people get to know us and look forward to our album and activities. Of course, we want to achieve great results, but the most important thing is to promote without getting injured. I want to make many wonderful memories with the fans who have waited for us for a long time.”
They also talked about the new charms they discovered in each other while preparing for their unit activities. Regarding Cha Jun Ho, Kim Dong Yun said, “Maybe it’s because he’s been acting, but his ability to express key points has really improved.” He added, “There was a scene where he portrayed a ‘nerdy’ concept, and while monitoring it, I felt he looked really handsome. I’ve seen him a lot during DRIPPIN activities, but it was impressive because he felt much more grown than back then.”
Lee Hyeop also noted the changes in the members. He stated, “I think all three of us grew a lot internally while doing individual activities last year,” adding, “We’ve become much more mature in our attitude toward work and the process of preparing for activities.” He also laughed, saying, “I think we’ve also evolved externally in terms of how to express ourselves better and look cooler. It was great. While preparing, I thought, ‘If we promote like this, it’s going to be a huge hit!'”
Cha Jun Ho highly praised the members’ passion. He said, “Since the number of members decreased, there were parts that were physically more challenging,” and “Despite that, seeing them work so fiercely and diligently made me realize the members’ will and sense of responsibility once again.”
They also discussed the concepts they want to challenge in the future. Lee Hyeop said, “If this time was a refreshing and soft cotton candy vibe, next time I want to show a more mature kind of excitement that targets people’s hearts.” He added, “I’d also like to try a concept like a mature Cupid.”
Cha Jun Ho shared his ambitions, saying, “This album feels like it fits the season perfectly.” He added, “Next time, I want to challenge songs that evoke autumn and winter vibes, or music where the vocals take center stage over the choreography. I want people to say, ‘When it comes to seasonal songs, think of Cha Dong Hyeop.'”
