“I Can Just Spend Less” Actor Kim Jung-tae Moves to a Smaller Home for His Family, Leaving His Wife and Son Emotional

Actor Kim Jung-tae recently shared a heartfelt update about his life as a “goose father,” splitting his time between Seoul and Busan for the sake of his family.

A teaser video titled “Kim Jung-tae, Moving for the Family!_Dad and I Episode 72” was recently released on the TV CHOSUN YouTube channel.

The video captures Kim Jung-tae’s daily routine while living apart from his family. Introducing his current home, he mentioned, “I’ve lived here for about two years. Today is the morning of my move.”

He revealed the reason for leaving his spacious three-story house, explaining, “The children are growing, and I thought it would be better if I spent a bit less on myself and focused those resources more on the kids.”

Opening up about health concerns, Kim Jung-tae mentioned he was recently warned about the possibility of liver cancer recurring. He shared his deep affection for his family, saying, “When your health declines, everything else becomes unnecessary, and you realize that only family is what truly remains.”

The new home Kim Jung-tae is moving into is smaller than his previous one. His wife and sons, who came to see the house, expressed mixed emotions over his choice.

His wife couldn’t hide her bittersweet feelings, saying, “It’s a bit heartbreaking. He’s moving to a smaller house just to save even a little bit.”

His son, Kim Ji-hoo, asked, “Dad, how do you feel living alone in Seoul?” to which Kim Jung-tae honestly replied, “I’m lonely. When I go to Busan, I get to play around with you guys.”

Despite missing his family, Kim Jung-tae showed his strength as the head of the household, stating, “I’ve been doing this for a long time. I’ve traveled between Seoul and Busan for 35 years. I can’t afford to get exhausted.”

In response, his eldest son, Kim Ji-hoo, expressed deep understanding and affection, saying, “It must be hard for Dad to go back and forth between Seoul and Busan. I know how much Dad loves our family.”

Meanwhile, Kim Jung-tae’s son, Kim Ji-hoo, has previously garnered attention for his incredible talent in speaking six languages, as well as his diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome.
