HBO has already greenlit the second season of the ‘Harry Potter’ series!

On the 6th (local time), HBO officially announced the production of Season 2, stating, “Season 2, based on the novel ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’, is scheduled to begin filming this fall.”
HBO previously shared plans to adapt all seven of J.K. Rowling’s original ‘Harry Potter’ novels into a seven-season drama series over the course of 10 years.
John Brown, who served as a writer for the previous season, has been promoted to co-showrunner and will lead Season 2 alongside Francesca Gardner.
Regarding the announcement, Francesca Gardner shared, “Since we’ve set a tight production schedule to wrap up Season 1 by Christmas and return to Season 2 production in the fall, having a co-showrunner was essential. Working with John from ‘Succession’ to the recent ‘Harry Potter’ has always been a pleasure. I feel lucky to be working with someone with such outstanding writing skills.”
John Brown added, “I am thrilled to collaborate with Francesca as co-showrunner. Writing the script for ‘The Philosopher’s Stone’ was a huge joy, and I’m grateful to Francesca and HBO for trusting me to continue this amazing journey. I guess you’re never too old to receive a Hogwarts acceptance letter!”
