A hate-to-love romance between a Joseon villainess and a capitalist chaebol! The 14-episode series premieres May 8 at 9:50 PM.
The production team of SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Brave New World’ (written by Kang Hyun-joo, directed by Han Tae-seop) revealed the key points to watch for on the 7th. Fans are already excited for the thrilling “hate-to-love” chemistry between Shin Seo-ri (played by Lim Ji-yeon) and Cha Se-gye (played by Heo Nam-jun).
‘Brave New World’ is a romantic comedy about Shin Seo-ri, an unknown actress who becomes wicked after being possessed by the soul of Joseon’s most notorious villainess, Kang Dan-shim, and Cha Se-gye, a malicious chaebol known as a monster born of capitalism.
Lim Ji-yeon takes on a dual role as Kang Dan-shim, a Joseon villainess who rose from humble beginnings to become a royal concubine, and Shin Seo-ri, the modern-day unknown actress possessed by her soul. Heo Nam-jun plays Cha Se-gye, a capitalist monster who views marriage as nothing more than a corporate merger.
From their very first meeting, the two refuse to back down, even engaging in a duel with flowers. Curiosity is peaking over the synergy between a Joseon villainess who has crash-landed in the 21st century and a notorious chaebol.
Adding to the fun are Jang Seung-jo, Kim Min-seok, and Lee Se-hee as characters surrounding Shin Seo-ri and Cha Se-gye. Jang Seung-jo plays Cha Moon-do, who is eyeing the successor position of the Cha Il Group, while Kim Min-seok plays Baek Kwang-nam, a job seeker living next door to Seo-ri. Lee Se-hee plays Yoon Ji-hyo, a top star and Seo-ri’s ultimate rival.
Chae Seo-an will appear as Mo Tae-hee, Se-gye’s mysterious blind date partner, and Kim Hae-sook will play Nam Ok-soon, Seo-ri’s only family member and grandmother. Additionally, model Stephanie Michaeleva, wife of rapper Beenzino, will make a special appearance.
‘Brave New World’ also promises to be a master of cliffhangers. Director Han Tae-seop stated, “Once you see the ending scenes of ‘Brave New World,’ you’ll definitely want to watch the next episode.”
Consisting of 14 episodes, ‘Brave New World’ premieres on the 8th at 9:50 PM.
