‘Hidden Eye’ is shedding light on Kim So-young, the culprit behind a series of drug-related motel murders.
The May 11 episode of MBC Every1’s ‘Hidden Eye’, airing at 8:30 PM, will delve into the criminal activities of Kim So-young, whose crimes left South Korea in shock.
It was revealed that before the actual murders began, Kim So-young had already conducted drug experiments on several men. Victims lost consciousness immediately after drinking beverages provided by Kim So-young in public places such as restaurants and cafes. Reportedly, after using AI to confirm that combining alcohol with psychotropic drugs significantly increases the risk of death, Kim So-young increased the dosage to lethal levels.
Kim So-young later moved the crime scenes to motels and became even bolder. In a shocking twist, it was revealed that Kim So-young murdered another man using the same method on the very day a police investigation was scheduled.
CCTV footage also captured Kim So-young leaving a motel alone with delivery food, including chicken worth 130,000 won, which was ordered using a victim’s card. Furthermore, it was confirmed that Kim So-young left long messages to the victims that seemed to hint at the crimes, leaving viewers horrified.
Profiler Pyo Chang-won analyzed that “to understand the motive for the crime, one must look at the growth process and deprivation together,” while Kwon Il-yong stated, “this is a type that eventually progressed to the murder stage while chasing stronger stimulation.” The episode will also analyze Kim So-young’s childhood, deprivation, and kleptomaniac tendencies to understand the psychology behind the crimes.
