Actress Hwang Bo-ra recently opened up about the immense stress of parenting, eventually breaking down in tears.
On May 8, a video titled “Hwang Bo-ra’s Tearful Vacation Diary: Escaping Home for Parenting Relief” was uploaded to her channel, ‘Hwang Bo-ra’s Boraiety’. In the clip, although she was given some much-needed alone time thanks to her husband’s consideration, she couldn’t stop worrying about her child.

Speaking about her son Woo-in, who is nearly a year old, Hwang Bo-ra shared, “He can’t sit still in a restaurant for more than 10 minutes, can’t focus on one activity, and just can’t stay still.” She expressed deep concern, wondering if her parenting methods were wrong, and burst into tears while whispering, “Please help.” Her raw emotion resonated with many working moms.

To find answers, she consulted a child psychology expert via phone. The expert reassured her that the child is still too young to make a definitive judgment but noted that Woo-in might not have had enough opportunities to learn self-regulation, as he is often in environments where he spends all his energy. The expert encouraged her to let go of the guilt and get some rest, suggesting that consistent attitudes from all caregivers would help. Hwang Bo-ra nodded along to the warm advice, regaining her composure.

Hwang Bo-ra also recently shared that she is undergoing IVF treatments to conceive a second child. Even after experiencing severe side effects, including extreme swelling and a torn cornea during self-injections, she showed strong determination to continue for the sake of other couples struggling with infertility who find courage through her journey.
After dating for 10 years, Hwang Bo-ra married Kim Young-hoon (the son of actor Kim Yong-gun and brother of Ha Jung-woo) in 2022. Despite the combined challenges of parenting and infertility, she continues to grow as a mother. Fans have been sending her warm support, calling her “the epitome of a true working mom” and urging her to prioritize her own health.
