Model and entertainer Han Hye-jin brought plenty of laughs by suddenly bringing up the topic of a family tree burial while planting trees at her home in Hongcheon.
On May 7, a video titled “I tried planting 14 trees myself” was uploaded to her YouTube channel, ‘Han Hye-jin’.
In the video, Han Hye-jin visited her home in Hongcheon, Gangwon, and started planting a total of 14 trees, including 12 cherry blossom trees, one plum tree, and one beech tree.
She showed great enthusiasm, saying, “I’m going to do the very thing everyone told me not to do today.”
However, things didn’t start smoothly. Her mother accidentally fell and hurt her knee during the work, leaving Han Hye-jin flustered as she asked, “Mom, are you okay?”
She then sparked laughter by remarking, “This is exactly why they told me not to plant trees.”
As the heavy digging began, Han Hye-jin expressed the struggle of manual labor, repeatedly saying things like “My nose is running, I’m gonna die,” “Why is this so heavy?” and “This is too hard.” When a massive rock appeared, she had a very relatable reaction, shouting, “That’s the core of the Earth!”
In the middle of it all, she pointed to the trees she had planted and suddenly brought up the idea of a tree burial.
She joked, “I’ll set up a tree burial for you here, Mom,” and added, “I should probably go right between Mom and Dad,” which left her mother completely bewildered.
The sudden “unfilial joke” turned the scene into a sea of laughter, with the realistic chemistry between the mother and daughter causing an absolute riot.
Han Hye-jin also shared that she was planting 14 trees to match the number of family members, adding to the humor.
After the exhausting labor, she expressed her satisfaction, saying, “It looks so pretty now that they’re planted.” She then enjoyed a peaceful spring day in Hongcheon, eating makguksu and admiring the cherry blossoms with her mother.
