THE BOYZ’s Younghoon, WJSN’s Lee Luda, and Kim Dong-jun are set to star in ‘Love WiFi-Gung’.
According to production company Take One Company on the 8th, ‘Love WiFi-Gung’ (written by Kim Nam-hee and directed by Sa Seok-chun) is part of the Kitz series and is scheduled for release in the second half of this year. The story follows a webtoon writer desperate for a hit and a court lady dreaming of becoming a concubine, who communicate across time and space through a mysterious mother-of-pearl chest. It is based on the webtoon of the same name by authors Joa and Gin-yu, serialized in 2023.
Younghoon will play the role of Taepung, a webtoon writer struggling to make a living. One day, Taepung connects with a court lady from the past named Sohyang through a mother-of-pearl chest left by his mother. He decides to become her dating coach to gather material for his next work, but as he talks with Sohyang, his own dormant romantic feelings begin to bloom.
Lee Luda will transform into Sohyang, a court lady of low birth. Sohyang’s goal is to capture the King’s heart and become a concubine, so she spends her days grooming her appearance and studying love. However, her perspective changes as she communicates with Taepung from the future through her father’s mother-of-pearl chest.
Kim Dong-jun will play the role of the cold-hearted King Lee Hwi, creating a love triangle with Taepung and Sohyang.
‘Love WiFi-Gung’ is uniquely planned as a project featuring a movie, a short-form drama, and a mid-form drama. All filming has been completed, and post-production is currently in full swing.
Meanwhile, Younghoon returns to acting after about three years since ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938’. Lee Luda starred in ‘The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun’ last year, and Kim Dong-jun is expected to appear in ‘New Recruit 4: Sabotage’ in the second half of this year.
