Actress Lim Ji-yeon is set to take over the home shopping world with a surprising transformation in ‘Wonderful New World’.
Premiering May 8 at 9:50 PM, ‘Wonderful New World’ (Directed by Han Tae-seop / Written by Kang Hyun-joo / Produced by Studio S, Gil Pictures) is a romantic comedy about an unknown actress possessed by the soul of a Joseon-era villainess and her entanglement with a cold-hearted chaebol. The series brings together Director Han Tae-seop, known for ‘Stove League’ and ‘Cheer Up’, and writer Kang Hyun-joo, starring Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun.
In this project, Lim Ji-yeon plays Shin Seo-ri, an actress possessed by the Joseon villainess ‘Kang Dan-sim’. She will humorously depict the process of adapting to modern society, showcasing a different side of her acting as a character who uses any means necessary to survive.
Recently released stills catch the eye, showing Shin Seo-ri as a home shopping model. In the drama, Seo-ri utilizes the skills she honed in the royal palace to exert an extraordinary presence on the home shopping set, quickly becoming a “sold-out goddess.”
In the photos, Seo-ri captures attention with an intense gaze while holding a Chinese language textbook. She brings laughter with exaggerated energy and gestures while introducing drinks and radiates a unique charm through various performances, including a knife-skills demonstration. Director Han Tae-seop also noted that these scenes are among the most impressive of Lim Ji-yeon’s comic acting, naming the episode a key highlight for viewers.
